Today, 7th May 2025, South London’s Grammy Award winning saxophonist and producer Venna has released new single “My Way”. Co-produced with willcomodo, Venna’s vocals feel fleeting but the light guitar grounds them. ‘My Way’ mesmerises with its golden hued soul, it’s impact is in no way lessened by the ultra soft touch used. “My Way” continues to show the genreless approach Venna takes to making music. Dropping alongside a  visual that sees Venna and his love interest traverse New York City together. It’s nostalgic, romantic and deeply intimate. With switching perspectives, what seems a domestic portrait also evokes a bliss that feels intangible and untouchable.

Speaking on how he found the words to sing on a record: “Does anyone really have the words to say? I don't know. I don't know if I had the words to say. I just conjured words and thoughts and tried to make art out of it.”

Venna elaborates further on the new single: “My Way was the last record made for the album. A record that came to me in the moments where I thought i was finished. It’s testament to never stop searching even when you feel like you’ve found everything you were looking for. My Way is an uncomfortable record for me as it’s really the first time i’m outwardly singing as a lead and not as an accessory to the music. I came across a producer named Will Commodo last summer and he had the instrumental on his instagram. I dm’d a while later and when we met - My Way was the only instrumental i wanted to hear. I wrote to it in the initial moments of hearing it and the rest is history. I sat with the record for a few months afterwards, adding subtle production changes and calling my trusted friends to help me with elements i felt like was missing.”

It’s been a whirlwind of a journey for Venna to arrive at this point. He’s spent the better part of three years on the road touring, while coming back to London intermittently. Often, in the spaces he finds himself in as a musician, he’s often the youngest in the room. This period gave him the confidence to embark on this next stage of his career.

Following on from the bewitching “Prophet” which was accompanied by a masterpiece of a video, “My Way” continues to prove why Venna is building a world like no other. In spite of his last project being over 2 years old, Venna is going from strength to strength having supported superstar Raye at Shepherd's Bush Empire last year and has a growing fanbase with an ever-expanding appetite for new music.
